Buying from abroad

Evaluate a property from overseas without relying on informal assurances or payment requests.

  1. Review the published property information and ask for clarification about anything you cannot inspect in person.
  2. Confirm the local legal, tax, ownership and representation arrangements with appropriately qualified advisers.
  3. Review the exact purchase agreement, currency, payment schedule and account instructions.
  4. Keep correspondence, payment references and confirmed receipts together.

Buying from overseas does not remove the project's conditions or approvals. Do not assume a foreign-currency price, exchange rate or guaranteed return. Any private project information requires the applicable approved disclosure process; signing an NDA does not buy a property.
