Technology and useful terms

The web and mobile applications connect public exploration to governed disclosure and work. Shared records support accountability while permissions limit access to the relevant relationship.

Afrihood's web and mobile applications are being developed around the same model: public exploration, approved private disclosure and workspaces that present the actions appropriate to each relationship.

The platform connects project, agreement, payment and service records so that the people responsible can work from a consistent account of what happened. Public information is approved for release; private records remain limited to the people entitled to them.

The public structure brings together Marketplace, About, Members, Opportunities, Media, Inquiries and the Guide. Inquiries adapts to property requests, project questions, land offers, partnerships and other enquiries. Services become available as their workflows and controls are released. A published explanation of the model is not a promise that every feature is already available in every market.

The Guide provides optional help for the current task. Where an authorised AI assistant is available, it can support permitted work; written guidance remains useful without it. Neither an assistant nor an account can create authority that the underlying relationship does not have.

Useful terms

  • Proptech: technology used to improve how property is originated, developed, transacted and managed. In Afrihood's model, it connects the software to the people and companies delivering the work.
  • Origination: finding and assessing a development opportunity before committing to it.
  • Centre: the intended group-level home of the common standard, brand and platform.
  • Country company: the company responsible for the business in a particular national market.
  • Area company: the local company that carries projects in a defined Area. Internal documents may call it an Area SPV, meaning a special-purpose vehicle.
  • Project: a particular development with its own scope, programme, obligations and records.
  • Area CEO: the executive accountable for the Area company and its projects under the applicable appointment and mandate.
  • Off-plan: a purchase agreed before the property is completed, under the terms of the relevant sale agreement.
  • Offtake: credible demand and qualified purchase commitments assessed for a project's sales and funding case; an inquiry alone is not a contracted sale.
  • Commissioning: formal approval that the applicable readiness requirements have been met. For an Area CEO, the qualifying Project Commissioning Certificate activates the specified office and project-linked entitlements under the approved instruments. Incorporation or selection alone is not commissioning.
  • Assurance: the checks, evidence and approvals used to assess whether applicable requirements have been met.
  • NDA: a nondisclosure agreement governing confidentiality for a particular disclosure.
  • Mandate: the documented scope and limits of a person's, company's or provider's authority.
